Dr. Kathy Eckler is the Managing DVM of Gull Lake Animal Hospital. Dr. Kathy graduated from MSU with both a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After “vet school”, she practiced veterinary medicine in a mixed animal practice where she worked on large and small animals for five years before opening Gull Lake Animal Hospital in 1995. Dr. Kathy finds everything about veterinary medicine interesting, but she especially enjoys working on behavior and working toward “stress-free” visits, opthalmology and working with local rescues improving the health and well-being of homeless pets. It is especially gratifying when these pets find their forever homes.

Dr. Eckler’s family includes her daughter Jessie and son James along with Cooper her goldendoodle. In her spare time, Dr. Eckler enjoys Yoga, biking, weight training, agility training with Cooper, skiing, spending her time with her kids, and sailing!
